PeopleSoft Rapid Travel and Expenses Implementation
Project Highlights
|
Client – GAF Building Materials
GAF, an international, multi-billion dollar manufacturing company with over 50 manufacturing sites, acquired Elk Building Products in 2007. This resulted in a major undertaking to integrate Elk’s PeopleSoft 8.4 Financials/SCM system with GAF’s PeopleSoft 8.8 system. As a result of Luna Technology Group’s critical involvement with the successful post-acquisition systems integration, the client selected us to perform all technical work needed in the rapid implementation of their PeopleSoft 8.8 Travel and Expense application.
Business Challenge
Timeline. The client had a long list of interfaces and customizations, with only 4 weeks to complete all development and a crucial go-live date that could not be postponed.
The task list included:
|
Solution
With thorough planning, Luna Technology Group was able to apply the proper resource to the appropriate task in order to deliver the completed, functional product on time and within budget. All systems were converted and/or upgraded from legacy systems to PeopleSoft 8.8’s T&E package and is still supported today by Luna Technology Group.
SAP Financials Data Conversion – Microsoft Technologies
Project Highlights
|
Client – Altivity Packaging
Through a multi-billion dollar merger of US packaging companies, Altivity was in need of converting client financials data from disparate legacy systems into SAP Financials. Data to be converted included GL, AP, AR, customers, and vendors.
Business Challenge
The primary challenges for the Altivity project were the structure and gathering of the legacy financial and customer/vendor data. The information was extremely inconsistent as the manufacturing plants functioned as separate entities and each had its own independent database. The new business model required that data be stored in one central system. Luna Technology Group interacted very closely with end users, business experts, and SAP technical resources to ensure that data would be converted successfully.
Solution
After extensive client interviews and the development of complex algorithms to map, translate, transform, and converge data, Luna Technology Group was able to consolidate client information with the help of Microsoft Technologies, including SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio. Luna Technology Group also created efficiencies by writing automated data cleansing programs that eliminated temporary employee head-count and offered substantial project savings; both financial and time line. This aided in the accurate and efficient conversion of GL, AP, AR, customer, and vendor data.
PeopleSoft Financials/SCM Integration with HighJump Warehouse Management System
Project Highlights
|
Client – Senco Products, Inc.
As one of the leading major U.S. tool manufacturers, the client had purchased several PeopleSoft Financials/SCM modules, including Order Management, Inventory, and Purchasing. Another purchase was HighJump Software’s Warehouse Management System. The plan was to integrate PeopleSoft and HighJump to work seamlessly.
Business Challenge
This client had a lack of internal resources with extensive technical knowledge of PeopleSoft’s Integration Tools or functional knowledge of proper processes surrounding integration with HighJump.
Solution
Luna Technology Group led the client through all phases of the integration. After a comprehensive fit-gap analysis was performed, we engaged Senco and provided a road map to the PeopleSoft and HighJump integration functionality. This process helped them identify all desired business functions that were not satisfied with the delivered integration points. We performed all necessary configuration and designed and developed custom processes to handle the following business needs:
|
App Messaging, Integration Broker, and App Engine were the main PeopleSoft tools used for this integration process. The final solution was delivered to the client on time and under budget.
